Program Management Posted on 10.20.2014 | DCTM

Program Management: Advising and managing the portfolio of equine assets that each particular client has, and helping build a program that fits that client’s goals is what Doug likes to do. This starts with a full evaluation of what is owned currently, and developing a culling standard and process, whether we are talking about broodmares or racehorses. You can’t keep them all, therefore it is important to create a strategy to control the numbers, and indirectly to control the costs. Maximazing your sales opportunities is also extremely important, whether the relevant decision involves determining which sale to enter your horse or what the correct reserve should be at auction. When you have a hot commodity, you need to get the maximum return possible.
