As you can see below, MarketWatch tallied the race performance statistics for all the leading buyers at yearling auctions. While Doug was at WinStar, they bought their yearlings under the stable name of Maverick Racing, which ranked #1 by selecting Graded winners at 20%, and #1 by selecting Grade One winners at 8%. A couple of the horses involved in these statistics include Breeders Cup Classic Winner Drosselmeyer and Jockey Club Gold Cup winner Haynesfield. Doug is the first to point out that most good results come from a team effort, and the entire WinStar team participated in the selection process. But the key point is that they got great results, and Doug has continued to hone the same skills and resources he used in finding these top horses, and he would love the opportunity to help other buyers find their next star!
